Designed for professional hydrometric applications, the CWxxx stream gauging weights combine robust construction with carefully engineered hydrodynamics to ensure reliable measurements under a wide range of flow conditions.
The streamlined, Zeppelin-inspired shape is specifically developed to minimise disturbance to the natural flow regime. By reducing turbulence around the instrument, the CWxxx weights enable more accurate velocity readings while preserving the integrity of the measurement environment. Design adopted from USGS Columbus Pattern gauging weight.
A stabilising tail section ensures a consistently aligned position in the current, even in fast or uneven flows. This high level of directional stability helps maintain precise sensor orientation, improving repeatability and measurement confidence.
The CWxxx range is compatible with all common mechanical current meters and is particularly well suited for use with KISTERS OSSB1 and OSSPC1 instruments. Its balanced design supports smooth deployment and retrieval, whether from bridges, cableways, or portable setups.
